The Muhlenberg womens basketball team made only four field goals in
The Mules (11-13, 7-10), who honored seniors Gwen Doyle and Aril Bryant prior to the game, did most of their scoring by threes in the first half, hitting six three-pointers and adding two old-fashioned three-point plays. Doyle played a big part, hitting three three-pointers, the last of which gave Muhlenberg its biggest lead, 25-17, with 5:39 on the clock. The Green Terror (22-3, 16-2), ranked 26th in the D3hoops.com poll, hit two three-pointers of its own late in the first half and had cut the gap to one (33-32) by the time the buzzer sounded. McDaniel took the lead for good 22 seconds after halftime. While the Green Terror shot 53.6 percent in the second half, the Mules were beyond cold, making only two field goals in the last 13 minutes, and none after the 7:48 mark. Junior Kristen Piscadlo led Muhlenberg with 13 points. Her three assists gave her 101 for the year, making her the second Mule with two 100-assist seasons. |
