Senior Stephen Rothwell (left) extended his career by at least a few days by posting an ECAC-qualifying time at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet.

Rothwell ran a career-best 1:54.28 in the 800 meters to qualify for the ECAC Championships, which are scheduled for later this week at Oneonta State. Rothwell has been battling injuries this season and is just hitting his stride. The time he posted at Swarthmore was a full two seconds better than his fourth-place time at last weekend’s Centennial Conference Championships.

Fellow 800 runners Stuart Udis and Lex Mercado also hit the ECAC standard, although both have notched better times this season. Senior Sarah Mitchell won the javelin in her last meet before the NCAA Championships.
