Brandon Doyle Joe Caporoso October 4: Muhlenberg escapes to remain undefeated
Muhlenberg extended its regular-season winning streak to 15 with a tight 28-23 win at Johns Hopkins. Senior Brandon Doyle (left) intercepted two passes, including one that sealed the game, and senior Joe Caporoso (right) caught his first career touchdown pass, giving the Mules the lead for good.

September 30: Mules a consensus No. 5
The Mules are ranked fifth in Division III in the two major national polls.

Phil Cresta September 28: Cresta earns CC honor
Junior Phil Cresta (left) was named Centennial Conference offensive player of the week after catching two touchdown passes in the Mules’s 42-21 win against Gettysburg.

Edward DeRisi September 27: Muhlenberg wins CC opener
Senior Edward DeRisi (right) caught a career-high five passes, including a touchdown, as Muhlenberg opened defense of its 2007 Centennial Conference championship with a 42-21 win against Gettysburg.

September 22: Mules climb into top 5
Muhlenberg advanced to No. 5 in the national Division III poll for the first time ever.

Matt Rathbun September 21: Rathbun named player of the week
Senior Matt Rathbun (left) was named Centennial Conference defensive player of the week after helping the Mules to a 31-14 win at Union.

JJ Contessa Scott Gavin September 20: Muhlenberg goes to 2-0
Junior JJ Contessa (left) caught a 1-yard touchdown pass on his first career reception, giving Muhlenberg a 14-0 lead en route to a 31-14 win at Union that gave the Mules a 2-0 start. Sophomore Scott Gavin (right) helped Muhlenberg get off to a good start by intercepting a pass on the second play of the game.

September 15: Mules ranked sixth
Muhlenberg moved up to No. 6 in the national Division III poll.

Eric Santagato September 7: Santagato named player of the week
Senior quarterback Eric Santagato (right) was named Centennial Conference player of the week after his 300-yard game against Wilkes.

Ewan Wright September 6: Muhlenberg comes back to win opener
Junior Phil Cresta caught seven passes, including the game-winning touchdown, for a career-high 152 yards as Muhlenberg opened the 2008 season with a 34-21 home win against Wilkes. Junior Ewan Wright (left) forced a fumble on a kickoff to set up the insurance touchdown.

August 6: Muhlenberg first in preseason poll
Muhlenberg was picked to repeat as Centennial Conference champion in 2008 by a wide margin in the CC preseason poll.

July 24: Second honor for Nolan
Senior Mike Nolan was named to the D3football.com preseason All-America team.
