Muhlenberg fields a small competitive coed squad. Primary cheering events are many football games (all home and several away games) and men’s and women’s home basketball games, as well as occasional participation in special programs and celebrations.

Like most Muhlenberg students, the cheer team members are involved in many aspects of college life. Cheerleading, although demanding, is not so time consuming as to limit involvement in other activities.

Each member of the cheerleading team participates in fund-raising events and preseason camp during the month of August.

TRYOUTS
Tryouts/preseason for the 2008-09 year will begin on August 18. Prospectives must have stunting experience (flyer, back and/or base), must have multiple-year experience in cheerleading and some dance experience. Gymnastics background is a plus.

It is also recommended that each prospective utilize some sort of cardio and/or weightlifting routine in order to fit the qualifications of our competition-bound squad.
